Meet Archie Deese, founder and President of Socium Coatings, a company serving the aviation, heavy commercial, and industrial markets in Atlanta, GA. Archie oversees daily operations and future planning, utilizing a systems engineering approach to enhance processes and teamwork.
Originally from North Carolina, Archie grew up in Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BBA in Investment & Corporate Finance. After six years in corporate America and an 18-month career break, he founded Socium Coatings, driven by his passion for systems, planning, and consistency. Archie leads his team with a leadership style that fosters support and accountability.
Archie values Relationships, Competency, Character, Consistency, and Innovation. These principles form the foundation of Socium Coatings, guiding the company’s growth and operations under his leadership.
Outside of work, Archie enjoys reading, traveling, studying philosophy, and understanding people.
Fun fact: Archie lived in Costa Rica for 60% of the time from 2013 to 2019. During this period, he met his wife, had three children, learned Spanish, and grew his company. He likes to say they were “virtual before virtual was cool.”
