Originally constructed between 1905 and 1907 by Southern Bell, the building served as a critical hub for Atlanta’s early telecommunications infrastructure. Georgia State University acquired the property in 2006, and following a comprehensive transformation, the facility now serves as the university’s Student Success Center—a space that connects the building’s historic legacy with a modern academic mission.
Today, the renovated center provides students with access to key services including Student Financial Management, International Student and Scholar Services, Supplemental Instruction, Financial Aid, the Registrar’s Office, and the National Institute for Student Success. The project required careful coordination and craftsmanship to deliver durable, high-quality finishes within a historically significant structure.
This project further strengthens Socium Coatings’ long-standing relationship with JE Dunn Construction, one of the company’s most consistent general contractor partners across the Atlanta market.
